Enemas – A Safe Way To Flush Your Colon!

Let’s talk enemas! Enemas are the use of water or herbal teas to flush out the colon. This is an ancient practice that focuses on colon health and the removal of putrified waste that sits in the colon from poor digestion. Enemas can come in all different types from hand held, to bags attach to a tube, and then the colonic irrigation machines.

Despite how this practice can save millions of lives, I rarely hear information about them. As a result, I always suggest them especially to people that want to heal their body from dis-ease. Majority of all dis-ease in the body starts (75%) in the colon. This is because foods like meat and refined/processed foods have a long digestion time. This food also can’t adequately be filtered and pushed through the colon, thus the reason why constipation is a huge deal in individuals, and synthetic laxatives that dehydrate your body are consumed.

I first learned about the use of enemas in my study of Ancient Afrikan cultures. These smart and advance people were well aware on the importance of colon health. They would abstain from solid food for 3 day, and in the midst of this period they were to implement an enema cleanse. This way, not only was the colon cleansed, but parasites and putrified foods were eliminated.

Upon my discovery of this, I immediately wanted to try it myself, and see how it really work. Now I can admit I was pretty nervous my first time cleansing my colon. The thought of something going into the rectum was scary and a bit taboo, but after the cleanse it was an immediate feeling of clarity! Since then, I made it a monthly practice to always flush my colon after the entire month of consuming food. This paired with an diet of natural foods keeps my body clean, dis-ease free, and healthy as ever

Enemas are really useful for the cleansing of parasites as well! With the proper fluid, an enema flush will remove any parasite that you are affected by. Trust me I experienced this myself! I will also include that enemas are not to be used for bowel movements. Only a diet of raw and natural food will ensure proper bowel movement. There are also plenty of natural habits you can implement such as okra water, chia seeds water, slippery elm powder etc to create natural fiber to encourage the bowel movements. Below is an easy step by step guide you can follow to incorporate this healing practice into your life!

🌿 Easy Herbal Tea Enema Guide

⚠️ Safety First:

  • Only use this if you’re healthy and have no contraindications.
  • Not recommended for regular use unless advised by a doctor.
  • Use filtered water and clean equipment.

🧴 What You’ll Need:

  • Enema kit (bag or bulb with nozzle and tubing)
  • 2–4 cups filtered water
  • 1–2 tsp of dried herbal tea (e.g., chamomile, peppermint, coffee, or calendula)
  • Pot to boil water
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Lubricant (coconut oil or water-based)
  • Towel
  • A private space (bathroom or near toilet)

🍵 Step 1: Make the Herbal Tea

  1. Boil 2–4 cups of filtered water.
  2. Add 1–2 teaspoons of dried herbal tea.
  3. Let steep for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea to remove herbs.
  5. Let it cool to body temperature (98–100°F or 37–38°C). Always test with a clean finger.

🧼 Step 2: Prepare the Enema

  1. Make sure your enema kit is clean.
  2. Pour the cooled tea into the enema bag or bulb.
  3. Close the clamp to prevent leaks (if using a bag).
  4. Hang the enema bag about 2–3 feet above where you’ll lie down (for gravity flow).

💧 Step 3: Use the Enema

  1. Lay down on your left side with knees drawn up (fetal position).
  2. Apply lubricant to the nozzle and gently insert it about 2 inches into the rectum.
  3. Slowly release the clamp or squeeze the bulb to let the tea flow in.
  4. Take slow, deep breaths to relax.

⏳ Step 4: Hold & Release

  1. Try to hold the liquid inside for 5–15 minutes, or as long as comfortable.
  2. You may feel cramping — this is normal but don’t force it.
  3. When ready, go to the toilet and allow yourself to fully eliminate.

🧽 Step 5: Clean Up

  1. Wash the enema kit thoroughly with hot soapy water and let it air dry.
  2. Rinse with diluted hydrogen peroxide or vinegar occasionally to disinfect.
  3. Stay hydrated after your enema.

✅ Tips

  • Start with a smaller amount of fluid (1–2 cups) if you’re new.
  • Do it when you have plenty of time and privacy.
  • Best done on an empty stomach or after a bowel movement.
